What is acetaldehyde – and why does it matter?
Acetaldehyde is a harmful substance that can be formed in the stomach:
- During meals, especially with fermented foods
- When alcoholic beverages are consumed
- When stomach acid is low and microbes can grow in the stomach
In people with reduced stomach acid, acetaldehyde may remain in contact with the stomach lining for longer.
How Acetium® capsule works
- Acetium® capsule is designed to be taken with meals or when drinking alcohol, so it works at the right place and
time. - The capsule contains L-cysteine, a natural amino acid.
- L-cysteine binds acetaldehyde in the stomach and converts it into a harmless compound.
- A slow-release formulation ensures gradual action during digestion.

When Acetium® capsule can be especially useful
Acetium® capsule is intended for adults who want added stomach protection during everyday eating and drinking,
especially if they:
- Have been told they have a low-acid or acid-free stomach
- Use acid-reducing medication such as proton pump inhibitors
- Have chronic Helicobacter pylori infection
- Have conditions such as atrophic gastritis
How to use
- Suitable for regular use whenever needed. Dosage 1–2 capsules with meals or alcohol, following the instructions
for use. - Sugar-free, lactose-free and gluten-free. Does not contain human or animal derived ingredients.
