Why early detection and prevention are crucial
Gastrointestinal health faces growing challenges worldwide, driven by an aging population and limited healthcare resources. In addition, the increasing prevalence of gastrointestinal disorders underscores the urgent need for innovative solutions and improved care strategies.
Gastric cancer often causes common, non-specific symptoms, which can delay diagnosis and treatment. As a result, it is frequently detected at an advanced stage, when survival is low and treatment costs are high. Early detection improves the chances of survival and reduces treatment costs.
Screening must be in place in high-incidence regions, such as Eastern Europe, the Baltics and Portugal, as recommended by the Council of the European Union in 2022 (1).
GastroPanel is a non-invasive blood test that enables the early detection of precancerous gastric conditions, before they progress to cancer. By identifying at-risk patients earlier, it can help save lives through timely intervention and better outcomes, while also reducing healthcare costs associated with advanced cancer treatment.

A timely moment for gastric cancer screening
Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan: recent developments in the EU’s cancer strategy have increased attention to cancer screening and prevention.
European Parliament SANT Committee: the Committee has called for stronger alignment of national screening practices with EU recommendations, including greater attention to gastric cancer.
Gastric Cancer Awareness Month: November provides a timely opportunity to raise awareness.
