Overview

The cytoplasmic cytoskeleton determines cell organization, shape and adhesion among other functions. Furthermore, the cell type-specific expression of intermediate filaments allows determination of the origin of many, otherwise unspecific tumours. Monoclonal antibody to a-ACTININ clone CB11 (IgG1)

Monoclonal antibody to a-actinin is derived from the hybridoma produced by fusion between myeloma cells and Balb/c spleen cells. Purified a-actinin from chicken gizzard was used as an immunogen.

Specificity
The antibody is specific to the 100 kD a-actinin polypeptide and reacts with human and chicken cells.

Monoclonal antibody to a-fodrin is derived from the hybridoma produced by fusion between myeloma cells and Balb/c spleen cells. Chicken red blood cell membranes purified by hypotonic lysis and mechanical enucleation were used as immunogen.

Specificity
The antibody is specific to the 240 kD a-fodrin molecule of all mammalian nonerythroid cells and chicken a-spectrin. The antibody crossreacts with human, rat, chicken, rabbit and guinea pig.

Monoclonal antibody to cytokeratin 18 is derived from the hybridoma produced by fusion between myeloma cells and Balb/c spleen cells. Cytokeratins isolated from cultured pig kidney epithelial cells were used as immunogen.

Specificity
The antibody recognizes cytokeratin no. 18, typical for simple epithelial cells.

Applications
Immunohistochemical stainings, western blotting and immunoprecipitation. Reacts widely with different species, including mouse and fish. This antibody especially reacts with mouse CK18 and can be applied in developmental biological and gene knock out studies.
